Patricia Barnes

Patricia “Trish” Barnes, the Founder of Maine Advisory Associates, has worked in the investment and financial services world for nearly 30 years.  The seamless transition to new leadership has been completed and Trish will continue in a consulting role over the next couple years as a Investment Advisor Representative of MAA.

With an undergraduate degree in English and Anthropology and an MA in TEFL, her experience and education are diverse.  After 16 years of teaching at the high school and university levels, Trish found she had a passion for educating people about how money works. Raising her two boys as a single mother, she came to understand that, without help, most people don’t discover how to secure their financial futures.  She worked for a number of years as a securities representative, insurance agent, and loan broker before finally distilling her practice into investment advisory services.

Trish incorporated in 2006 as an independent entity to activate her desire to empower others to reach their financial goals and dreams.  After losing her son, Kevin, to epilepsy, she also became an epilepsy advocate and has currently raised $300,000 for epilepsy research, is the author of Kevin’s Pyramids, detailing her deep dive into stain glass-making as a way of turning grief to hope and was featured in an award-winning documentary, The Last Pyramid. Trish had been a Maine resident for over 30 years, most recently in New Sharon, and now traverses the country from Maine to Baja in her Travato Camper nicknamed the “Cosmic Flash.”
